Fuel Subsidy: Nigeria Can Save 7 Trillion Naira From Subsidy And Use It To Improve Workers Wages -  Adams Oshiomhole

In a recent interview with Channels Television, former Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, expressed his confidence in President Bola Tinubu's ability to address the fuel subsidy issue and alleviate the current fuel scarcity problem.
Oshiomhole believes that Tinubu has a well-thought-out plan to tackle the challenges associated with the removal of fuel subsidies.

Oshiomhole emphasized that President Tinubu is aware of the immediate consequences of subsidy removal and is committed to finding a prompt solution. He expressed optimism that the ongoing discussions between the federal government and organized labor would lead to a satisfactory resolution.
During the initial meeting between the federal government and organized labor, Oshiomhole stated that both parties reached a consensus, and the government has shown willingness to consider the demands put forward by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC).
Highlighting the need for subsidy removal, Oshiomhole pointed out that Nigeria could generate substantial revenue by saving up to N7 trillion. This money could then be used to improve workers' wages. Oshiomhole explained that the savings from subsidy removal would be distributed among the three tiers of government, enabling each level to adequately address the consequential increase in wages.
